Stereo MC is important today. A popular English band is named Stereo MC. It is a hip hop band which has their own recording studio the Gee Street. Robert Birch the vocalist and Nick Hallam the DJ and producer founded the record label.
They came up the hard way. They actually traveled on buses with a whole lot of tapes in bags instead of a backing band. In fact, they started the band by selling their flat in London. They used the money to begin their endeavor.

Stereo MCs – tune ‘em in and up! When Gee Street started gaining popularity, Stereo MCs’ debut album 33-45-78 (1989) was released. Although this album was recorded on a tight budget which along with DJ Cesare had drummer Owen If and backing singer, Cath Coffey was a great hit.
Their first British hip hop single named “Elevate My Mind” was released in1990. This single belonged to Stereo MCs and was the first British hip hop single to go to the U.S. R&B chart. Stereo Total or what? Stereo Total is a Berlin-based band comprising of a French-German duo. Brezel (’pretzel’) Göring (aka Friedrich von Finsterwalde, born Friedrich Ziegler) and Françoise Cactus (born Françoise Van Hove) are the two members of this band. Formerly, other members formed part of this band. This includes Angie Reed, Iznogood (Iznogoud is the character of a French comic book series by Jean Tabary and René Goscinny), Lesley Campbell and San Reimo.
